Phyllis Foster Whipple, 63, of 102 Kemper Ct., Danville, VA, died, Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at her residence.

Born November 20, 1948 in Danville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lou Fannie Walters Foster. She was married to the late James Edward Whipple.

Survivors include one daughter, Monica Whipple of Danville, VA; one son, Sean Whipple of Danville, VA; one granddaughter, Marisha Williams of Danville, VA; three sisters, Doris Foster and Joyce Hairston both of Danville, VA and Marchelle Foster of Franklin, VA and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the residence.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 2 PM at East New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Marcellus Mack officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 2-8 PM at Fisher & Watkins Funeral Home.
