Carrie Mae Brown, 74, of 163 Frederick St., Danville, VA, died, Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Roman Eagle Memorial Home.
Born October 27, 1937 in Sumter, SC, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Julia Lawyer Jackson. She was married to Sampson Brown, who survives.
In addition to her husband of the residence, survivors include one daughter, Karen B. Ferrell of Danville, VA; three sons, Charles G. Brown of Danville, VA, Simpson Brown of Raleigh, NC and Vincent Brown of Richmond, VA; four sisters, JoAnn Adams of Columbia, SC, Doretha Tate of Charleston, SC, Rovenia Adams of Bronx, NY and Pearl Bostic of Yonkers NY; four brothers, Samuel Adams of Buffalo, NY, Charles Adams of Bronx, NY, Leroy Adams of Rimini, SC and Anthony Adams of Columbia, SC and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter, Karen B. Ferrell, 709 Old Quarry Rd., Danville, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 1 PM from the Chapel of Fisher & Watkins Funeral Home with Elder Dexter Gravely officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. Family visitation will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Fisher & Watkins Funeral Home.
