James William Ferrell

James William Ferrell, 79, of 210 Lansdale Street, Danville, Virginia died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at his residence. Born March 1, 1933, in Pittsylvania County, VA, he was the son of the late Alonzo Ferrell and the late Ruth “Danky” Robertson Ferrell and stepfather, Jack Robertson, who survives. He was married to the late Virginia L. Ferrell and later to Eva Hogue Ferrell, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Eva H. Ferrell of Danville, VA; stepfather, Jack Robertson of Pittsylvania County, VA; two sons, Darrin Ferrell of Danville, VA, James W. Ferrell, Jr. (Stephanie) of Seat Pleasant, MD; one sister, Ellen F. Thomas of Trenton, NJ; five brothers, Lonnie Ferrell of NJ, Red Ferrell of VA, Charlie Robertson of Danville, VA, Eddie Robertson and Larry Robertson, both of NJ; four grandchildren, Andre Ferrell of Danville, VA, Chilon Boone of Burlington, NC, Marlon Ferrell of Seat Pleasant, MD and Taskyya Ferrell of Danville, VA, two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Boone and Nia Boone, both of Burlington, NC and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Ronnie G. Ferrell and one brother, Harrison Robertson and granddaughter, Tahya Ferrell.

The family will receive friends at the residence.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Reid officiating. Interment will follow in Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home is assisting the Ferrell family.
